WHO HAVE YOU HELPED THIS YEAR?
Ruby is an amazing and ADORABLE little girl with cerebral palsy. New to preschool this Fall. During the summer, she recieved Botox injections in her legs followed by intensive therapy at Nationwide Children's for several hours a day, several days per week. Her therapist and family reoprt that in just 4 short weeks, she was able to independently stand and take steps for the first time, which she was not able to do before!!!
WAY TO GO RUBY!!!

Abram and his twin, Heath, were born prematurely due to Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). Heath died due to complications with his care at three weeks of age and Abram spent eight months in the NICU. Over the past 4 years, Abram has been diagnosed with quadriplegia cerebral palsy, asthma, epilepsy and GERD. He is deaf and had a cochlear implant surgically placed in February 2009. He also has vision
impairments and recently began wearing contact lenses. At 4 ½ years of age, he still requires supplemental oxygen when sleeping and receives daily treatments to maintain his airways.
Abrams family was requesting a grant to help cover expenses to build a deck with a ramp to the backyard along with some play equipment so that he can play outside with his
sisters. It is currently very cumbersome and somewhat dangerous for his mother to get his equipment outside for him to play. Access to his backyard will allow him to play with his siblings, make friends and give him a space to practice gait training and other motor skills such as driving his wheelchair. The project for this family is called “Get Out and Play” and is a collaboration of three different organizations: Building Blocks for Kids, the Luke Billings Foundation and CP Parent Group in Columbus. The amount requested is $5000. You can still donate personally if you follow this link: Click Here: Building Blocks 4 Kids
